Blog#2 special experiences in Ohio

When I got arrived at Columbus, Ohio, I had comfortable and peaceful feeling. Even though I've visited Columbus downtown once, I could see less cars on the road and more greenish. I think that's because I came from most crowding city in S. Korea. More to that, many students are riding bikes from class to class or are running on the sidewalks. These are making me feel some movements. I also envy many students have their own car; otherwise, I'm having difficulties of going somewhere because I do not have a car. Since I started to live in campus housing, I needed to buy many things. Then I had to share a car of other's and had to be in other's schedule. There was a big difference in transportation system from my hometown. Even I can take a bus at OSU to go to stores, it takes more time to go back and forth. In my hometown, I used to take more buses and subways, so without any transportation I feel stuck in my place.

In addition to the upper story, I had an experience of participating in celebrating Easter before in Ohio. After service in the church, the host family brought me to family's relative's house. I boiled the eggs and then colored them by special tools. The whole process of coloring eggs was so interesting to me. They looked prettier. Then we had a nice and delicious dinner; in addition we played a card or did some activities. I think giving eggs away is the common event as in my church in S.Korea. The church gives us some eggs, and church people give those eggs to other people who do not go to church. The eggs mean the resurrection of Christ.
