Since I came here in 2008, I have attended many interesting activities related to culture in Columbus , including Bible study in church, electing speech of Obama and so on. Especially noteworthy is an annual multicultural event named Thanksgiving Day Dinner, in which I participated every year in OSU.
Thanksgiving Day Dinner is sponsored by many organizations of OSU, like the Office of International Affairs (OIA), the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. This event, usually held around November 24th, is a very big party for people who are unable to go back their own homes for the holiday. No matter who they are, students, faulty, staff and their family members, all are allowed to attend it with free tickets picked up in OIA in advance.
Last year, my family went to the Ohio Union for Thanksgiving Day Dinner on November 24th. Under guide of volunteers, we entered into a big and beautifully decorated hall. Hundreds of people from different countries gathered together to express best wishes for the holiday. Moreover, turkey, green beans, sweet potato and apple pies were shared with each other. With these delicious foods, we enjoyed a pleasant holiday day.
