Honestly, my writing skill is poor even
in my native language. Ever since I was a high school student, I have denied
studying any literature or writing. The first reason was, it wasn’t just
interesting and I prefer science to Korean or literature. Thus, I think this
inclination for refusing literature and studying only science has influenced on
my second language writing. How can I argue or write something that I can’t
even discuss in my language. I guess my spoken English is better than written
English.
In terms of summarizing, I didn’t have
any difficulties except that I have to spend time on reading some articles that
were struggling since I am working a lot of things this quarter. I don’t think
I put my best on this course. I didn’t even do proof-reading. What I need to
improve now is trying to make an effort instead of thinking of grammar. Of
course it doesn’t mean that I don’t make grammatical mistakes. The best ways
for me to improve my grammar and editing is following. First, spare time for
writing. Second, proof read my work. Last try to remember what I know.
I am not satisfied with my digital story
script now. I could have revised this but I couldn’t . But I tried to make flow
while I was writing this and since my drastic experience, I was able to write
down whole story in few minutes. I used a change of mood for my story; at the
beginning of my digital story, I wrote background, how I started studying, what
made me in a trouble and so on. Then I described things what I did in order to
overcome this difficulty. Somebody in our class recommended me to write more
detail about my overcoming story, but I just decided to skip it because that
doesn’t mean special to me. What I mean is that everyone puts effort on their
things that important to them. My endeavor is not special. The result is special
to me. Thus I think the script what I have so far is enough.
Good explanation of your challenges and difficulties in writing. At least, you were able to consider a comment about your story even if you didn't use it.
