blog#8 Digital Story Summary and Critique

The digital story, "Outside the Glass", describes visiting orphanages of a rural area in abroad. She could experience by learning services from her friend and also became an adviser to children about cheering them up to experience new world, challenge themselves or move out to comfort zone. She performed many activities for children of HIV-AIDS. Students might be exposure to the program which she offered of collaborating with community. In addition, she learned many things from this program such as hindrance or valuable community's assets from students or the community or hospitality. During her digital story, others who were in her same group describe and might simplify their special experiences. The other experiences that they had other than visiting students were such as breathtaking environments, the smell of the place where they visited, and visiting paper factory and specified their experiences at there. When she went to the paper factory, the worker taught them to feel free about learning by asking questions to her. When she reached to the services treating knowledge, experience in a real world, participating and being effective, and personal or interpersonal development. These experiences help them to escape being behind the glass.
She didn't comment of a reason why she has to visit there. When she listed activities, there were no special attractive stories. The voice was clear and could be well conveyed to audience without background music, but there was a sound effect in the middle of her digital story and it disturbed a voice. That sound effect should be lower than the voice. The contents were fine and it was a nice try to put her group member's voices and their opinions to make her digital story interesting, but it would be better if she mentioned them and introduced them before putting other's opinion. The usage of images and the delivering story was fine.
